Labour Infrastructure Forum Launch 11.09.2024
We are delighted to officially launch the Labour Infrastructure Forum, a dynamic network of policymakers, industry experts, and stakeholders from across the Labour movement, united to achieve Keir Starmer’s mission to get Britain building and growing again.
At our launch event on 11 September 2024 we heard from Chief Secretary to the Treasury Darren Jones, No 10 Special Adviser Varun Chandra, LIF Advisory Council member and Chair of Water UK Ruth Kelly, and our LIF Director Gerry McFall.
We were joined by 80 senior executives, MPs, advisers, policymakers and thinktank officials.
Getting Britain Building is key to Getting Britain Growing. The Labour Party’s first year in government is critical to lay down a marker for the rest of the parliament. Before it is captured by ‘events’, it must make meaningful progress on its mandate to take on the NIMBYs and rebuild our country. The LIF will help them push through the pain!
A year on from HS2’s cancellation, what should Labour learn to Get Britain Building?
Labour Infrastructure Forum Deputy Director Will Murray recently published his thoughts on the anniversary of the cancellation of HS2 and what this Labour government can learn from HS2’s failures: https://labourlist-org.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/labourlist.org/2024/10/government-news-hs2-building-yimby-britain/?amp
